Violating Party regulations and State laws on land management, causing serious consequences, the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Huong Hoa district (Quang Tri) was removed from all positions in the Party.
The Standing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee recently held a meeting to consider disciplinary action against Mr. Le Quang Thuan, Vice Chairman of Huong Hoa District People’s Committee, for violating the Party member’s regulations.
After reviewing the inspection results and recommendations of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Committee, the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee found that Mr. Le Quang Thuan violated Party regulations and State laws on land management, causing serious consequences and negatively affecting the reputation of the Party organization and Party members.

Considering the content, nature, level, consequences and causes of the violation, based on Party regulations, the Standing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee decided to discipline Mr. Le Quang Thuan by removing him from all positions in the Party.
Regarding land violations occurring in Huong Hoa district, previously, Quang Tri Provincial Police initiated a case, prosecuted and temporarily detained 4 defendants for the crime of Abusing position and power while performing official duties.

The arrested subjects include: Vuong Viet Thang, Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Huong Hoa district; Duong Phuc Hieu, an officer of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Huong Hoa district; Tran Nhat Hoang, former Director of the Branch of the Land Registration Office of Huong Hoa district and Le Khanh Vu, a cadastral officer of Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district.
The investigation determined that during the period of 2019-2021, the above defendants took advantage of their positions and powers to examine and appraise registration dossiers for granting land use right certificates and changing land use purposes in violation of land law, causing damage to the State of over 7 billion VND.
