Authorities in Quang Binh have verified information about two women facing a large tiger in the protective forest of Quang Ninh district.
On June 7, information from the People’s Committee of Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district (Quang Binh), this locality is verifying information about people reporting the discovery of individual tigers in the protective forest.
According to the report of Ms. Ho Thi Vinh, a resident of Truong Son commune, 5 days ago, she and 3 other women went to Dieu Do forest area, Truong Son commune to collect rattan strings. At this time, Ms. Vinh came face to face with a large tiger, about 30 meters away from her.
Ms. Vinh then ran back to the shack and informed her companion, Ms. Ho Thi Tha, but Ms. Tha did not believe it.
However, later, when she went to pick wild vegetables to eat, Ms. Tha came face to face with the tiger, only about 20 meters away.
The incident was told by two women to people in the area. An elderly woman residing in Truong Son commune confirmed that she had previously heard a tiger roar in Dieu Do forest.
It is known that on the morning of June 7, Truong Son commune authorities coordinated with the forest ranger unit, Quang Ninh District Protection Forest Management Board and two women who reported encountering a tiger and went into the forest to verify the incident.
Authorities will set camera traps to verify whether this individual tiger is present or not.
