In the “VEF Riga” unit, Sean Pipes stood out with 23 points and eight assists, Māris Gulbis had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Gregory Whittington scored 12 points.
Among the winners, Ilya Sidorov and Taj Odiase were the top scorers with 15 points.
“Vefieši” collected 24 successes in 30 games in the main LIBL tournament and ranked third. “Prometey” with a balance of 26-4 was one place higher.
“VEF Riga” beat “Rīgas Zellius” 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the joint league, while “Prometey” beat “Ogri” 2-0.
This season, in the first meeting, “Prometey” basketball players won 70:66, while in the second match, “VEF Rīga” won 83:76.
In the second semi-final on Tuesday, “Ventspils” lost 65:91 in the first match to the winner of the main tournament, “Kalev”/”Cramo” from Tallinn, which took a 1-0 lead in the series up to two wins.
