Varkiza: Locked in a well-known cafe – “They forgot” to send 1,890 receipts to AADE

One of Varkiza’s best-known coffee restaurants has been closed for two days since Tuesday morning, due to tax violations.

The auditors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) found that this company, for three weeks, from May 7 to 29, had cut, but had not forwarded to AADE 1,890 receipts, with a total value of 33,500 euros, plus VAT of 5,400 euros.

According to information, while the audit was establishing all this, the company’s accountant began to remotely transmit, after a holiday, the receipts that the restaurant had “forgotten” to transmit to the system.

The company was sealed for two days, fined 2,700 euros, while the auditors sift through its tax data from previous years to determine if there are other tax violations.
