After the Bailey Road tragedy, the district administration and police raided the restaurant in Bogra.
The operation was carried out in Jaleshwaritala area of the city on Tuesday (March 5) from 12 noon to 2 am.
Additional District Magistrate Majbaul Karim and Additional Superintendent of Police Suman Ranjan Sarkar led the operation. Assistant Director of District Fire Service and Civil Defense Manjil Haque was present on this occasion.
According to district administration sources, raids were conducted at Helium, Grand Kacchi, Chat Gaya Mezban, Bar-B-Q and Pizz & Burg in Jaleshwaritala area. During this time, the traveling court of the district administration fined Piz and Berg restaurant 50,000 taka for the lack of fire service and civil defense license and exit route.
Also, the administration has set a time limit of 15 days for the preparation of all kinds of licenses. The remaining four restaurants are advised to remain vigilant as all approvals are in place.
Nayan Mahmud, the owner of Pease and Berg, told Jago News, “We have not been given any idea about what kind of approval will be required when starting the company. It would have been better if the administration had informed us earlier and taken action later.
Additional District Magistrate Majbaul Karim said that action will be taken as per the law in all the restaurants and restaurants of the district. No one can get away with disobeying the law. Now those who are fined will be brought under the law if they do not correct the mistake.
