USA: He beat his 21-year-old girlfriend to death, placed a sofa over her body and slept

A 33-year-old man was sentenced for the brutal murder of his girlfriend.

Leroy Brahm III, 33, was overcome with jealousy when he learned that his 21-year-old girlfriend, Annabel Rose Meenan, had started a relationship with another man, even though Brahm himself had encouraged her, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. “He ended up with Annabel because she chose someone else over him,” prosecutor Kate Wright said at his trial, the New York Post reported.

The 33-year-old “savagely struck the victim, multiple times, leading up to the murder,” the Chester County District Attorney said, with “many of his violent attacks” captured on security cameras at their home in East Vincent Township, where they lived together.

In one such video Brahm is seen hitting his girlfriend 85 times with punches and 80 times with kicks to the head. When the police asked the 33-year-old about the extensive bruises on the girl’s naked body, he replied that “it’s just from sex. We like wild sex.”

The gruesome crime ended with the 33-year-old picking up the living room couch, throwing it over the girl’s lifeless body and then sleeping on it. “She died in a painful and brutal way,” Kate Wright told the court, with the savage beating causing the unfortunate girl to go into cardiac arrest.

“The 33-year-old’s lawyer, Scott McIntosh, argued that his client went mad during a night of drinking. Brahm was convicted Friday of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

“The Judiciary rightly found Brahm guilty of all charges,” the prosecutor said.
