To show commitment to NATO
USA have announced that they will deploy long-range military equipment on German territory in 2026 to demonstrate the “commitment” from Washington with the I’LL TAKE and their contributions to the “European integrated deterrence”.
“These long-range conventional units will include SM-6 (missiles), Tomahawk and developed hypersonic weapons, which have a significantly greater range than current ground-based materials in Europe,” both countries indicated in a joint statement sent by the White House.
The announcement comes as NATO leaders are expected to agree on a €40 billion annual aid package for Ukraine, among other things, in Washington, marking the 75th anniversary of the alliance.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met on Wednesday on the sidelines of the summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to whom he promised more military aid and reiterated his support in the context of the war with Russia.
“The statement on the supply of additional Patriot systems was significant and we thank Germany and our partners for taking this step.”the Ukrainian president said in a message posted on the social network X.
The German chancellor assured Zelensky that “Germany has taken a big step to promote” this measure and convince other countries in the Alliance that “it is necessary,” according to the DPA agency.
The United States and four European countries – the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Romania – have announced they will send Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine following the latest wave of Russian attacks on Monday that left nearly 40 dead and 170 wounded.
Ukraine is on an “irreversible” path toward NATO membership, U.S. and European officials said Wednesday, advancing assurances from allies that it will be allowed to join the Western military coalition after its war with Russia ends.
