According to the police, from April 16 to May 20, there were tens of thousands of players betting with a total amount of money organized and gambled in their accounts of more than 40 billion VND.
Through the struggle, the subjects confessed that around January 2024 until now, Cong was introduced to the group on the Telegram application by an acquaintance to directly contact the bookmaker to get an account worth 500,000 USD (1 USD betting has a conventional value of 7,000 VND and can be raised up to 25,000 VND (Vietnam).
After that, Cong divided the above account into many small accounts for contacts and lower-level gamblers to organize gambling or gamble in the form of online soccer betting.
Initially, the project committee determined that the amount of money organized by this ring for gambling was more than 200 billion VND.
