A new regulation has come into force in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, according to which classes at universities, colleges and vocational schools will not begin before 10 a.m., Liter.kz reports with reference to press service Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Now educational institutions located in the capital will adhere to the new schedule for the start of classes. This applies to all state educational institutions of primary, secondary and higher vocational education, with the exception of those that are part of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, the Bishkek mayor’s office proposed changing the start time of classes in schools to an earlier time, before 8:00, and setting the start time of classes in vocational schools and universities no earlier than 10:00. This proposal was related to the need to reduce congestion on the road and transport infrastructure and ensure the safety of children, since the current start times of classes coincide with peak traffic loads on the roads, which leads to the formation of traffic jams.
Thus, the new measures are aimed at optimizing traffic flow and increasing safety in the city.
