Universitario de Deportes announced that it will not have any new signings for the time being.

Jean Ferrari announced that, after a meeting with the coach and the sports director of Universitario, it was decided not to make any signings for now.

University of Sports presented this Thursday “An Eternal Night”, the central event to celebrate its centenary. During the conference, Jean Ferrarithe club’s administrator, addressed the issue of the possible incorporation of Raul RuidiazFerrari revealed that, after a meeting with coach Fabián Bustos and sporting director Manuel Barreto, it was decided not to sign any new players for the moment.

“I had a meeting with Fabian (Bustos) and Manuel (Barreto) on Tuesday. We discussed the options for this transfer window that closes at the end of August. We decided that, for now, we are not going to sign anyone else,” Ferrari explained.

Although Ferrari clarified that the possibility of new signings is not completely ruled out, it assured that the squad will not be expanded at this time.

“Fabián is very happy with the current team. Manuel is also satisfied. This gives us peace of mind, but the squad is not 100% finalised. Until the transfer window closes, we can consider other options,” he added.

Activities for the centenary of Universitario

Ferrari also shared details about the club’s centenary celebrations. The main event will feature performances by Auténticos Decadentes, GianMarco, Los Rabanes, Bacanos, Anna Carina and Marisol. Juan Pablo Varsky and Morena Beltrán will be the presenters of the show.

In addition to the concerts, several surprises are planned. The BCR is preparing a commemorative medal and Serpost will release a special stamp for the centenary. An album will also be published in collaboration with Panini.
