In a busy weekend for Chilean soccer fans, both Universidad de Chile and Palestino achieved resounding victories on the second date of the 2024 National Championship.
The U began its journey in the local tournament on the right foot by beating Audax Italiano 1-0 in an exciting match that marked the team’s return to the National Stadium after a year and a half. The match was marked by intensity from the beginning, with a dedicated local fan and an electrifying atmosphere. Despite some missed opportunities, it was Cristian Palacios who scored the decisive goal for the Blues in the 69th minute, unleashing euphoria among the 32,000 spectators present.
The university team paid a heartfelt tribute to the memorial of the victims of human rights violations during the dictatorship on their return to the National Stadium.
