NEW YORK – An aerospace company plans to build a network train on the Moon to help transport humans and various supplies.

As reported by The Sun, Thursday (21/3/2024), Northrop Grumman proposed a rail system that received support from the United States (US) Department of Defense.

According to him, it is hoped that the ‘moon train’ will trigger serious and sustainable economic development on the Moon.

“This proposed lunar railway network could transport people, supplies and resources for commercial ventures across the surface of the Moon.

“This further contributes to the space economy for the United States and our international partners,” a company spokesperson said.

Northrop Grumman was one of 14 companies selected by the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) last December to participate in the Luna-10 study.

It aims to quickly create new technological ideas that will help humanity expand its economic footprint into space.

The company said it will contribute to this research by determining the resources required to build a lunar rail network, listing costs and risks, and identifying prototypes and analyzes of operational lunar rail systems.

Meanwhile, Richard Branson, for example, has expressed interest in building a hotel on the moon. Several companies are also researching the concept of (kè xiàn) space hotels.

While there are no hotels on the moon yet, there are plans to build a space hotel in low Earth orbit by 2027. This would be an incredible experience for tourists who want to experience low gravity and views of Earth from space.
