On the weekend of the 9th/10th The Austrian Badminton Student Championships were held in Egg in Vorarlberg on December 1st.
There were 8 starters from the talent nest from Ohlsdorf who fought for medals with full commitment. The result was a total of 6 medals and 1 Austrian championship title. Alexander Puschl achieved this together with his Carinthian partner in the men’s doubles U15 in a confident manner. The two more than lived up to their role as favorites with a clear victory in the final. With his two additional medals, Alex was the most successful player of our youth team in Vorarlberg.
The “Mayr Sisters” Leona and Liva won the other medals. Leona won the women’s doubles U15 and in mixed doubles U15 the bronze medal, Livia completed the medal set with the bronze medal in the women’s singles U13.

A week later, the Austrian Youth Championships took place in Klagenfurt. And our team was very successful here. A total of 3 Austrian championship titles and 5 additional medals were the result of our youth players, who were the only representatives of our federal state. Hanna Gillesberger became two-time Austrian champion in women’s doubles U17 and in mixed doubles U17 triumphed. She also won the bronze medal in women’s singles and women’s doubles U19 Sarah Dlapka won the competition with her Vorarlberg partner. In mixed doubles U19 She made it to the final with her Viennese partner and thus won the silver medal.
The third in the group, Lorenz Windauer, achieved the bronze medal in all competitions and returned to the “Badminton Center” in Ohlsdorf with a heavy burden.

All in all, once again very successful Austrian championships for the youngsters of the Sportunion Ohlsdorf, which showed that they can withstand all the adverse conditions at their home training facility.
