The Moroccan audience will meet again in the coming few months with a concert by the late Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum, using the “hologram” technique, after the great success achieved by the latter in her first performances in Morocco.
The organizers of “Work Event” revealed that new dates have been scheduled for Umm Kulthum’s evenings, following the great demand they received from the Moroccan public, who are eager to revive the connection with the beautiful era of immortal songs, with which the late singer enriched the Arab artistic treasury and which were passed down through the generations despite her death in 1975.
The first date for the “Umm Kulthum” evening was set at the “Megarama” entertainment complex in Casablanca, and tickets for attendance have also begun to be sold through the official platforms designated for this purpose, with prices ranging between 500 dirhams and 1000 dirhams.
This is not the first time that hologram technology has been used to re-present Umm Kulthum’s concerts. In 2019, a similar concert was held at the Dubai Opera House, followed by two concerts in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, before Morocco was chosen for the first time to live this unique experience during the latest edition of the Mawazine Festival, which hosted two dates that attracted fans of the “Star of the East” and achieved great success.
It is worth noting that “hologram” is a technology that allows the creation of three-dimensional images using laser beams, so that the image floats in the air as a gelatinous object containing a spectrum of colors, to be embodied in the form to be displayed, using a laser device, a beam splitter, lenses and mirrors, in addition to a “holographic” film.
This technology works by causing a collision between light waves and the object that the user wants to photograph and display, which allows users to view and see objects from all directions, as if they were real objects.
