JAKARTA – The 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia was held by the Muslim Youth Front Maluku (FPMM) in the field of the Ar-Romlah Mosque area, Jaticempaka, Pondok Gede, Bekasi. The ceremony led by the Jaticempaka Village Head Amir and the FPMM Chairman Umar Ohoitenan or Umar Kei as the ceremony commander took place solemnly.

Umar said, many parties participated in the war and fought to free the nation. Including fighters from Maluku, one of whom was Pattimura.

“This nation’s independence was sacrificed with blood and tears. Heroes from Maluku also liberated this nation,” said Umar Kei, Saturday (17/8/2024).

The spirit of fighting for the nation continues to be inflamed and carried out by the sons and daughters of Maluku, including by FPMM. However, government appreciation for the role of the sons and daughters of Maluku is still minimal.

Umar hopes that the government will give greater appreciation to the people of Maluku, so that their love for this nation does not fade.

“To the new government led by Mr. Prabowo, we hope that they will not look down on us. We must also look at us with two eyes, because for years we have not been given our rights. There are no ministers either,” he said.

In addition to the ceremony, FPMM also handed over 500 tree seedlings or plants for use by the community. The plants were handed over through the Lurah and other related parties.

Social actions like this are often held by FPMM. “We have often given, and have often carried out social activities. So not only trees, but every year also provide scholarships, also give to Muslims who are always active in praying five times a day, give umrah prizes. Every year it can be 50 people,” said Umar.

Jaticempaka Village Head Amir appreciated the distribution of hundreds of plant seeds by Umar Kei. “Back in 1945 we fought at the risk of life and blood, now he (Umar Kei) fights by spreading goodness, namely by giving plant trees. Hopefully it will grow later and be useful for the community and Bang Umar who gave his reward can flow,” he said.
