Ultramarathon runner Camila Maria Matte, 44, was found dead in the countryside of Leme (SP) after disappearing on Sunday (14). Her body was found on Tuesday (16th) and was partially burned. The case was registered as suspicious death by the Civil Police.

The athlete left home in the morning, after arguing with her husband, saying that she was going to have lunch with her parents in São Carlos, a city about 80 km from Leme, and was never seen again.

• According to the husband of the ultramarathon runner, physical educator Peterson César Malachias, 48 ​​​​years old, who also served as the athlete’s coach, Camila left home shortly after 9am on Sunday (14th) saying he was going to have lunch in São Carlos with his parents.

• Camila’s body was found by the police on Tuesday (16), two days after her disappearance, after a rural producer had passed through a sugar cane field, between Leme and Santa Cruz das Palmeiras, and see an abandoned car on a dirt road.
• According to the Military Police the body was partially burned and in a state of decomposition in the middle of the sugar cane field, near the athlete’s vehicle. Two bottles of alcohol were also found. The woman’s personal effects were present at the scene and there was no evidence of robbery.
