Russia has modernized its ballistic missiles, which has hindered the work of Ukraine air defense systems, Colonel Yuri Ignat, head of the Ukrainian Air Force Communications Department, said on Saturday.
In conversation with Ukrainian media, Ignat confirmed that both kyiv and their western partners have information that the Russian armed forces have improved their ballistic missiles.
«We and our partners have information that the ISKANDER-M missiles, which attack following a ballistic trajectory, have been improved and modernized. It is about knocking down the radar traps that each missile can knock down during their approach to the objective, ”he said.
Likewise, due to the modernization of Russian missiles, the American manufacturing patriotic defense systems available to the Ukrainian army have now become less capable of effectively intercepting ballistic missiles of the Euroasymatic country.
In that sense, he explained that the trajectory the ballistic missiles have changed, since now they do not fly in a straight line, but that they perform maneuvers. “It is more difficult for the Patriot system, which bolistically breaks down and calculates the interception point of missiles, predicting this point,” he added.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces launched a group attack with guns of terrestrial precision and aerial vehicles not manned against important military objectives of Ukraine on Saturday morning.
