The authorities of Ukraine have announced that Russia has launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine’s energy sector infrastructure with missiles and drones.
The Minister of Energy of Ukraine announced that the objects of the Poltava, Kirovograd, Zaporizhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia regions were the targets of the attack. The Kiev region was also hit.
Zaporozhye police said that the fire department, several important and civil infrastructure facilities and city transport were damaged as a result of the strikes in the city.
In Kherson, the station and railways were damaged.
The authorities of Lviv informed about the damage to the power plant. The Russian service of the BBC, citing the local authorities, reports that a fire broke out in two places in the Lviv region due to the impact of two cruise missiles. One of them is a gas storage facility, the other, according to the media, a thermal power plant.
According to the emergency services, 14 private houses were damaged and destroyed in Kyiv region, 2 people were injured.
According to the armed forces of Ukraine, on the night of May 8, the Russian armed forces fired 55 missiles, 21 kamikaze drones at Ukraine, of which 39 missiles and 20 UAVs were hit.
