Ukrainian hackers publish customer data of a Russian private bank

The Ukrainian hacker group Kiborg has published on its website the entire database of the Russian bank Alfa Bank, the largest private bank in the Federation.
According to Kiborg, among the published data are names, telephone numbers and bank account numbers of customers and which belong to natural and legal persons working with the bank, which is owned by the Russian-Israeli oligarch Mikhail Fridman, sanctioned by the United States for its ties to Putin since 2004.
The banking institution denies being the victim of the hacker attack but Kiborg claims to have acted in collaboration with another Ukrainian hacker group calling itself NLB. The cyber attack with which Kiborg allegedly obtained the data of millions of Russian citizens and entities occurred last October.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian media report, citing a source from the Kiev security services, about another cyber attack carried out by the Ukrainian hacker community Blackjack against an Internet provider in the Moscow region. In the attack, hackers allegedly deleted 20 terabytes of company information and downloaded another 10 gigabytes of data from mail servers and databases with customer data. According to the source, this action “left part of Moscow without the internet”.
Ukrainian hackers add that the action is a response to the cyberattack against Ukraine’s main mobile phone company, Kyivstar, an attack that left millions of users without service for days in December. Kiev accused Russia of being behind that attack, which was one of the most effective since the start of the war between Ukraine and Russia.
