The UK does not plan to supply fighter jets to Ukraine. This was stated this Monday by a spokesman for British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, quoted by Reuters.
“The Ukrainians have decided to train their pilots in the F-16, and they know that the Royal Air Force does not use them,” declared the official consulted after the meeting of the Ukrainian president, Vladimir Zelensky, with Sunak in London, where it was promised to kyiv to send long-range drones and to soon begin training Ukrainian pilots.

In the meeting between both leaders, the Ukrainian request for Western combat aircraft was discussed. The Prime Minister’s Office said it would begin pilot training this summer “alongside the UK’s efforts to work with other countries on the supply of F-16 aircraft.”
In the context of military aid to Ukraine, the prime minister’s office highlighted that the United Kingdom trained 15,000 Ukrainian military personnel last year, recalling that in February of this year London announced the development of a training program for Ukrainian pilots “to support their efforts to create a new Ukrainian air force with F-16 fighters, with NATO standard.
The statement reports that London has so far provided kyiv with a squadron of Challenger 2 tanks, self-propelled guns, armored vehicles, Starstreak and Storm Shadow missiles. The amount of aid provided is estimated to be worth £2.3 billion (about $2.8 billion). With Reuters
