UIDE Loja headquarters of Technological Innovation with Django Girls and FLISOL 2024 –

The International University of Ecuador (UIDE), Loja campus, in collaboration with the School of Information Technology Engineering, hosted the 2nd edition of the DjangoGirls Loja event and the 20th edition of the Latin American Free Software Installation Festival (FLISOL) 2024 These events highlighted the institutional commitment to technological advancement and strengthening the role of women in the field of web programming.

Django Girls: training with impact

This event is a platform dedicated to promoting female participation in the world of web development. Here, 9 students from the UIDE School of Information Technology Engineering became guides, empowering 3 participants each in the art of programming.

The participants not only learned to create web pages from scratch using free software tools, but also cultivated soft skills through collaboration, boosting their professional growth through self-learning.

FLISOL: technological forefront

The Latin American Free Software Installation Festival (FLISOL) is the epicenter of the free software movement in Latin America. This year, Loja was one of the privileged cities to host this great event, with the UIDE as the main host.

This space allows sharing knowledge and experiences about free software, also to show advances and practical applications in various sectors. In this edition, 8 UIDE students presented their innovative projects, supported by school teachers who gave enriching talks.

The event is promoted by institutions such as Openlab EC and Loxa Libre, as well as various higher education institutions. The UIDE will continue to support initiatives that promote the professional and personal growth of its students, always highlighting the importance of technological education and the empowerment of women in web development.
