Dubai: Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan in Abu Dhabi. Their discussion focused on current developments in the Middle East and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. He explored international efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire, ensure civilian protection, and increase humanitarian aid flows into Gaza.
The Ministers also reviewed the Sea Corridor Initiative for aid delivery to Gaza and its role in enhancing humanitarian assistance. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to working with regional and international partners to provide adequate, safe, sustainable and uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to the citizens of Gaza, meeting their needs and alleviating their suffering.
They reiterated the importance of ending regional extremism, tensions and violence, protecting civilians, and expanding all possible means of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.
Sheikh Abdullah praised Singapore’s leading relief efforts in Gaza and its cooperation with relevant parties to address the crisis and support Gaza’s citizens.
The meeting also addressed the friendly relations and comprehensive partnership between the UAE and Singapore, exploring opportunities for further cooperation in various fields for mutual benefit.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the developed and growing relations, highlighting the eagerness of both countries to exploit available opportunities to enhance their partnership to support development and achieve sustainable economic prosperity. The meeting was attended by Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs. (ANI/WAM)
