Tyson Fury Calls Deontay Wilder The Hardest Boxer: I’m Shaken

NEW YORK – Tyson Fury called Deontay Wilder the greatest boxer he has ever faced. Tyson faced Wilder in three fights, making it one of the most compelling trilogies ever.

In the first fight, Fury outpointed Wilder before things turned around in the final round. Wilder landed a hard right hand, sending Fury to the floor.

Just as the referee looked like he was going to stop the fight, Fury rose from the canvas to finish the fight. In their third fight, Fury was knocked to the canvas twice.

After all the fights with Wilder, Fury admitted he feared he had brain damage. Tyson was also knocked out by Francis Ngannou last December in the third round with a left hook. Even though he hit the canvas, Wilder was by far the hardest fighter.

“Deontay, by far (the hardest). Francis Ngannou is a great boxer, but I’m not too bothered by his punches. So Wilder is the greatest boxer I’ve ever fought in the ring,” Fury was quoted as saying by SINDOnews from the boxingnews page, Monday (26/8/2024).

However, it is important to remember a few things. Fury looked most vulnerable when he was boxing Oleksandr Usyk. Before the fight, Fury downplayed the Ukrainian’s threat.

He called him a middleweight and called him a rabbit. The perception was that Fury would beat his opponent. However, when it came to the fight, that was not the case at all.

Usyk dominated the fight, except in the middle rounds, as Fury ran out of ideas. The Ukrainian nearly stopped Fury in the ninth round, but the referee gave a controversial eight-count.

Although Fury recovered and finished the fight, there are arguments that the fight should have been stopped. In his post-fight comments, Fury even showed signs that he had suffered a concussion.
