Two-time world junior champion in freestyle mogul Anastasia Gorodko arrived in Almaty

Anastasia Gorodko won gold and silver medals at the 2024 World Junior Freestyle Mogul Championships in Italy. This is already the second gold and third silver at world championships in her career, Liter.kz reports.

The athlete who conquered the world podium arrived at Almaty airport from Italy along with the coaches of the national team. Assessing her performance at the Junior World Championships, Gorodko noted that she was determined to win two gold medals, but she considered this result – gold and silver – to be quite good.

This was not my first start at the Junior World Championships; I competed in this competition for the third time in my career. Two years ago I took two silvers and a gold, this time – gold and silver, because there were only two starts. When I rode in the individual moguls and won gold, I already had thoughts that I could have done better, but it turned out that it worked, after all, my mistakes did not affect the result in the individual competitions. And in the doubles moguls, I made a few mistakes on the track, which spoiled the result a little, but nevertheless, I won a silver medal,” Gorodko said.

According to the head coach of the national team, Elena Kruglykhina, the most important victory that Anastasia won this year is that she fully recovered from a terrible injury and the subsequent operation.

Ahead of the freestyle mogulists is the Kazakhstan Championship, which will be held next weekend in Almaty on Shymbulak, and then a long-awaited rest before the new season, which promises to be eventful, because in 2024/25, in addition to the adult World Cups and the Junior World Championships, the adult championship will be held world, Universiade and Asian Games, in addition, the qualification period for the 2026 Winter Olympics begins.
