Two suspected cases of anthrax identified in Uzbekistan

In the Jizzakh region, two people were hospitalized with suspected anthrax, Liter.kz reports.

How reports The Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development of Uzbekistan, the patients are in the hospital of Zafarabad district under constant medical supervision. The patients’ condition is stable, doctors are taking all necessary measures for their diagnosis and treatment.

“Experts conducted comprehensive studies of cattle meat and soil samples at the State Center for Animal Disease Diagnostics and Food Safety. As a result of the analysis, the anthrax pathogen was not detected,” the source reports.

It is noted that the Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development continues to monitor the situation to prevent the possible spread of the disease. Sanitary control measures have been strengthened in the region and additional testing of all potential sources of infection is being carried out.

Local authorities are urging residents to follow all personal hygiene recommendations and be careful when handling animals, as well as to report any suspected cases of the disease to medical facilities.
