Two New Projects Special for Disabled People Week in Alanya: Break House and Barrier-Free Sports Park Opened

Alanya Municipality implemented two important projects during Disabled People’s Week. Break House and Barrier-Free Sports Park were opened with a ceremony.

Aiming to make the lives of disabled individuals and their families easier, the Break House and Barrier-Free Sports Park were made available to citizens at a ceremony. In his speech at the opening, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik said, “We are happy to bring both the Break House and the Barrier-Free Sports Park to Alanya within the scope of the Disabled People’s Week. The Break House is an important support service where our disabled individuals can spend time safely and their families can take a short break from their daily lives. The Barrier-Free Sports Park was designed as an area that both supports physical development and increases social interaction. With these projects, not only We aim to eliminate not only obstacles but also inequalities of opportunity. It is possible to remove physical barriers; The main thing is to overcome the obstacles in the minds. “We will continue our work with determination with this understanding,” he said.

‘Break House’ project that gives families a breath of fresh air

The Break House Project, implemented by Alanya Municipality, offers an environment where private individuals can spend time safely and with pleasure. Aiming to give families a breather in daily life, ease the burden of care, and improve the social skills of special individuals, the Break House stands out as an important part of an accessible and inclusive social service infrastructure.

Movement and social participation are supported with the Barrier-Free Sports Park

The Barrier-Free Sports Park was created by utilizing a previously unused area. The park, which aims to enable disabled individuals to participate actively in social life as well as their physical development, has been designed completely suitable for disabled people. Thanks to the accessible structure of the park, disabled individuals have gained a more active and inclusive living space, not only physically but also socially. At the event, a certificate of appreciation was also given to the members of the New Alanians Platform by the Patika Barrier-Free Life Volunteers Association for donating the 2024 Christmas Market revenues to the Patika Association to use them for the benefit of disabled individuals. President Özçelik and the accompanying protocol members congratulated the platform members for their sensitive approach and expressed their gratitude. In the program, Mayor Özçelik played table tennis with disabled individuals and then shot arrows. Mayor Özçelik, who cares closely about disabled individuals, said that they will give whatever support they can to support them in holding on to life.
