Two dogs attack and kill their owner on her birthday

Osvaldo Basso, chief prosecutor of Villa Alemana (Valparaíso, Chile), informed local media last Friday that they have unearthed the bodies of two new victims of confessed serial killer Hugo Bustamante. The crime supposedly occurred in 1996, as the author himself revealed to a journalist during an interview conducted in prison and which was broadcast the day before by the Ciper site.

The journalist Ivonne Toro conducted several interviews with Bustamante during the preparation of a book about the case of the rape, homicide and dismemberment of her stepdaughter, the teenager Ámbar Cornejo, in July 2020. Four years before Ámbar’s murder, the attacker had been released on parole after committing two homicides in 2005. At that time he was sentenced to 27 years for the murder and subsequent dismemberment of his partner, Verónica Vásquez, 49, and their son. of her, Eugenio Honorato, only 9 years old, whose bodies he hid in a drum.

The new revelation

Toro pointed out that in the last interviews he asked the criminal if he had killed more people and he mentioned Elena Hinojosa and her son Eduardo Páez as “a gift.” After several months of investigations, she managed to verify that the names corresponded to those of two people who had been missing since 1996. According to Hinojosa’s daughter, Bustamante would have been the last person to see them alive after taking them to her home. However, at that time the multiple murderer did not admit any responsibility. Some time later, the case was filed.

Recently, Bustamante told a Gendarmerie officer in prison, who collaborates with the journalist, that he had participated in two homicides and gave him the exact location of the missing bodies.
