The events occurred during the closing of the campaign of the candidate of the PRI, PAN and PRD coalition, José Alfredo Cabrera Torres while a man points a firearm at his head.
José Alfredo is the second assassinated candidate of the PRI, PAN and PRD coalition in less than a week in the municipality. Last Thursday, May 16, the dismembered body of the candidate for municipal councilor Aníbal Zúñiga Cortés and his wife Rubí Bravo Solís was found.

On Thursday, May 16, six dismembered bodies were found and two of them corresponded to the candidate for city councilor for the PRI, PAN and PRD coalition Aníbal Zúñiga Cortes and his wife Rubí Bravo Solís.
The bodies were located around 10 in the morning, on Ruiz Cortines Avenue, an abandoned truck was found. In which inside the bed of the truck there were two dismembered corpses inside sacks covered with quilts.
The State Prosecutor’s Office began an investigation folder to identify and prosecute those responsible for the crime of qualified homicide, an event that took place on Thursday morning on Ruiz Cortines Avenue, in the municipality of Acapulco.
After an ambush, 13 members of the SSP are murdered
On October 23, 2023, in an ambush, they murdered elements of the Secretary of Public Security (SSP) of the municipality of Coyuca. The bodies were found together, handcuffed with their hands behind their backs and face down, after responding to a report following an alleged emergency call.

Kidnapping and murder of pharmacy chain owner

The body was found near the community of Bajos del Ejido on the Paso Texca bypass, a road that connects the municipalities of Acapulco and Coyuca de Benítez, in Guerrero.
