Abroad they celebrate their “Grill Day” and they call it “Fat Thursday” or “Fat Tuesday”.

In Italy they make a fluffy cake with lots of butter, they serve the famous cannoli and they fry fluffy donuts with jam. In Cologne, the country’s biggest carnival takes place and hot sausages, beers, snacks and mulled wine are served in the streets.

In Spain they celebrate “omelet day” and “sausage day” and enjoy traditional sweets.

The British celebrate “pancake day” and indulge in pancake races, while in France they traditionally eat custards.

In the town of Binns, Belgium, they eat oysters and champagne for breakfast.

In Estonia families go sleigh rides and eat ham and pea soup.
