The campaign headquarters of former US President Donald Trump announced that his TV debates with current US President Joe Biden ended with a historic victory.
“Tonight, President Trump delivered a better performance in the debates and won the biggest victory in history, making it clear how he, in particular, will improve the lives of every American,” said a statement on the Truth Social social network page.
As reported by TASS agency, on June 27 in Atlanta (Georgia), the first televised debates between current and former presidents took place in US history. In addition, televised debates were held for the first time in June, four months before the presidential election in November. Biden and Trump were banned from carrying speech transcripts. Speakers of politicians were muted until they were asked to speak.
CNN has already announced that Biden’s speech caused panic in the ranks of the Democratic Party, and the NBC TV channel assessed it as a “collective suicide” of the Democrats. Newsweek magazine awarded victory to Trump. US Vice President Kamala Harris admitted that Biden had a weak start to his speech in the debates.
The presidential elections in the USA will take place on November 5. Trump has already received the required number of delegates to be nominated as the Republican candidate for the post of head of state. Biden, fighting for a second term, secured the support of a sufficient number of delegates from the Democratic Party.
