Trump signs billionaire agreements with Saudi Arabia

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, and the heir prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Bin Salmán al Saud, signed an economic association agreement between the two countries, informs the Arabiya.

The White House said the agreement includes 600,000 million dollars in investments. At the same time, Reuters previously reported that the Trump administration hoped to receive 1 billion in investments in the kingdom.

The leaders also signed a cooperation agreement in defense, which stipulates the modernization of the capacities of the Saudi Armed Forces, and another agreement between the Saudi Space Agency and NASA. Washington and Riad also agreed to cooperate in energy.

It is also reported that the defense agreement includes deliveries of “latest generation teams” from the US to Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Financial Times reported Tuesday that the Trump administration had eliminated Israel from the negotiation agenda with the kingdom. The original terms of the agreements included a condition for the normalization of relations between Riad and Tel Aviv, but Washington could replace this clause with a closer cooperation in defense.
