MADRID, (EUROPA PRESS) – Former US President Donald Trump joked on Saturday about the doubts that his rival and current US president, Joe Biden, is raising ahead of the November presidential elections and has asked him to continue campaigning despite calls for him to withdraw due to his erratic behavior in the debate between the two last week.
“Corrupt Joe Biden should ignore his many critics and continue, swiftly and forcefully, with his powerful campaign,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.
Biden has been appearing in the US media for several days to reverse the image of weakness that he earned during the debate in Atlanta, where he appeared weak and imprecise in front of Trump. The American president himself acknowledged that he had had a bad debate, something he attributed to campaign fatigue.
Trump, who has seen Biden’s behavior as an opportunity to make a dent, added ironically in his message that the president “should continue to be as sharp, precise and energetic as he demonstrated in the debate, when selling us his open border policies, which allow record numbers of terrorists to enter this country.”
“Sleepy Joe needs to continue this campaign to destroy America and make China great again,” Trump said in yet another joke at the expense of his own campaign slogan, this time spearheaded by America’s great trade rival.
