The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at 10:00 a.m. on September 17, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 16.9 degrees North latitude; 119.9 degrees East longitude, in the eastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea.

The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 7 (50-61km/h), gusting to level 9; moving mainly to the West at a speed of about 20km/h.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the tropical depression is likely to strengthen into storm No. 4, with intensity of level 8-9 (62-88km/h), gusting to level 10-11 (89-117km/h).

At 10:00 a.m. on September 18, storm No. 4 was about 320 km east of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the storm center was level 8, gusting to level 10; moving west-southwest, about 20-25 km per hour.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, warned that from the morning of September 17, the eastern area of ​​the North East Sea will have showers and thunderstorms, strong winds of level 7 (50-61km/h) gusting to level 9 (75-88km/h), and rough seas.

Therefore, ships operating in the above area are in danger, subject to the impact of strong winds and large waves.
