Vienna (OTS) – In order to prevent misunderstandings regarding the future location of the interim solution for the years 2025-2030 of the Vienna-Brigittenau trauma center, we would like to once again point out the current status of the planning.
In the coming weeks, the inpatient services at the Brigittenau location will be relocated to our Meidling location or to the AKH.
After the relocation, an initial examination clinic will remain at the Brigittenau location to care for self-arriving patients.
The Brigittenau/Lorenz Böhler team is scheduled to be reunited at a common location at the beginning of 2025.
In this regard, all variants are currently being intensively checked for feasibility, including:
EITHER:
– a container hospital or a modular building on a suitable piece of land in the immediate vicinity
OR:
– the fire protection upgrade of the current location on Donaueschingenstrasse from the completion of the relocation of the stationary operations by the end of the year in order to be able to move into the building again at the beginning of 2025
A market exploration for suitable properties is currently underway; At the same time, intensive discussions are taking place with various providers of container solutions.
However, one thing is clear: No matter which interim solution the decision is ultimately made – the temporary relocation of services and personnel to the relocated Meidling and AKH locations is currently being prepared and will be implemented by the first week of April.
In addition, as reported, we are in negotiations regarding the use of additional hospital infrastructure to process planned operations.
