Fund transfers by Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) amount to over 105.46 billion dirhams (billion dirhams) for the first eleven months of 2023, according to the Bureau of Exchange.
These transfers recorded an increase of 4.4% compared to the end of November 2022, the Office indicates in its recent bulletin on monthly foreign trade indicators.
The bulletin also highlights that the services trade balance recorded a surplus increasing by 19.6% to 124.63 billion dirhams.
This increase follows the increase in exports (+17.5% to 238.62 billion dirhams), which is higher than that of imports (+15.3% to 114 billion dirhams).
As for travel revenues, they reached Dh97.40 billion at the end of November 2023, up 15.8% compared to the same period last year. For their part, travel expenses amounted to Dh22.15 billion.
Thus, the excess travel balance amounted to Dh75.25 billion at the end of November 2023, compared to +Dh66.63 billion in the same period a year earlier.
