Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department provided 5-day ‘Fire Department Basic Private Training’ for Ürgüp Fire Department personnel.
Mersin Metropolitan Fire Department, which renews itself day by day and increases its institutional capacity, draws attention not only with its effectiveness in fire and rescue operations, but also with the training services it offers. The programs carried out under the coordination of the Education Branch Directorate are not limited to Mersin, but also include teams in different provinces. Mersin Fire Department, which previously organized training in Karaman, implemented a new program this time upon the request of Ürgüp Municipality Fire Department. Training Chief Selçuk Polat from Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, instructors Muharrem Çavdar, Raşit Duranoğlu and Oğuzhan Şimşek attended the training held in Ürgüp. Within the scope of the program, participants were given extensive training, both theoretical and practical. Training topics included critical topics such as ‘First Aid, Fire Intervention Techniques, Dangerous Goods Response, Fire Cause Investigation and Reporting, Traffic Accident Response, Vehicle Fire Response, Safe Working at Height, Advanced Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Rope Access and Injured Evacuation’.

Training Branch Manager Abdil Duru stated that with the introduction of the ATA Training Center, they adopted an academic and scientific approach to firefighting. Emphasizing that this development further strengthens the technical equipment and knowledge of Mersin Fire Department, Duru noted that the trainings are constantly updated in accordance with all kinds of climate and natural conditions.
Stating that the training in Ürgüp was specially planned upon request, Duru said, “It makes us proud to share our knowledge and experiences with our colleagues. Thanks to the support of our President, Mr. Vahap Seçer, our fire brigade is getting stronger every day and is on its way to becoming a regional fire station.” – MERSIN
