On the way to Saigon station, the train had to stop suddenly, blocking Nguyen Kiem street, Go Vap district for 30 minutes.

At around 6:04 p.m. today, train SE7 was traveling North-South on its way to Saigon station (District 3, HCMC).

When reaching km1723+400 in the Go Vap – Saigon section, the train driver had to suddenly stop the train because the locomotive had an optical fiber cable that violated the railway limit.

Nguyen Kiem Street is the main traffic axis connecting Go Vap and Phu Nhuan districts to the inner city. The train blocking this road during rush hour caused a long traffic jam.

According to a representative of the Saigon Railway Transport Branch, after the incident occurred, the train crew coordinated with relevant departments to resolve the problem and allowed train SE7 to run again at 6:38 p.m. the same day.

“The incident did not affect operations at Saigon station and the North-South railway line,” he added.
