Tragedy for an elderly woman in Anilio

The Metsovo Fire Department sounded the alarm when they were notified of a fire in the outdoor chimney of a fireplace in a restaurant in the village of Anilio. The fire was immediately extinguished, but an elderly woman was found lying unconscious on the first floor of the building directly above the restaurant.

An ambulance took the elderly woman while the investigative police department from Ioannina arrived. The forensic examination will provide answers about the death of the elderly woman.

In a second incident earlier at the Shelter Center in Katsika, Ioannina, a fire broke out in a container where a family of three Africans lived, who were absent at the time. There was damage in the area, the police of Ioannina are conducting an investigation.
