Total Solar Eclipse Will Make Animals Behave Strangely

NEW YORK – A United States (US) animal expert warned about changes in pet behavior at this time solar eclipse next week.

As reported by the Daily Star, Friday (5/4/2024), the total eclipse will cause several states in the northern US to go dark briefly this Monday night when the Moon is between the Sun and Earth.

North Carolina State University biology expert, Professor Dr. Adam Hartstone-Rose said the animals’ behavior changed dramatically during the phenomenon, but the cause was unknown.

Hartstone-Rose said: “It could be a number of things. We hope kids will watch their pet dogs in the yard to see if they behave strangely during the eclipse.”

According to him, most animals reacted to the dimming of light due to the eclipse in such a way that it was time for them to rest and sleep.

On the other hand, experts say, nocturnal animals (active at night) will wake up and be active when an eclipse occurs.

“The solar eclipse is very exciting,” he said.
