Once the election day has passed, the municipal administration resumes “with everything” the works, programs, strategies and public policies to conclude the agenda that was programmed from the beginning, said the mayor, Román Alberto Cepeda González.
He said that during the electoral ban period nothing was stopped, but only the dissemination of government actions was limited, as established by law.
As of this week, work continues in all areas, from continuing to attend to the security strategy, economic growth, strengthening competitiveness, as well as attention to public services.
Among the priorities for these remaining six months of the administration, the program to replace political lighting lamps from old technologies with LEDs stands out, with a total of 20 thousand luminaires, mainly in rural areas.
There are also street paving and resurfacing programs; supervision of works that are in process, such as the Giro Independencia and the Matamoros Corridor; health, culture projects and more.
Cepeda González said that another priority will be to continue drilling water wells, until completing the 31 that was set as a goal during the three years of management.
Vandalism in well failures
On the other hand, the municipal president of Torreón said that there are several documented cases of acts of vandalism in the facilities of some wells, in which work is already being done to find those responsible.
He stated that in addition to the frequent failures in the energy supply for the operation of the wells, there were also cases of intentional damage to said equipment, which occurred during the course of the electoral process and which could have been caused to affect its management.
He said that what is necessary is already being done so that all the Simas Torreón wells have security cameras.
