Despite the passage of more than 10 years after the district status, a district hospital has not been constructed in Torghar and there is no lady doctor there.
Torghar, formerly known as the tribal area of Kala Dhaka, was given district status by the provincial government in 2011 and three tehsils, Jadba, Meera Madakhel and Ord Meera, were included in it.
Since the district status, the construction of the district headquarters hospital, district courts, finance department and roads have not been completed in Torghar. Due to which the local people are facing serious problems.
Muhammad Zahid, a resident of Masikhel area of Torghar Jadba, told Independent Urdu that at that time, the jirga consisting of the elders of five tribes of Kala Dhaka had demanded the district in the hope that Kala Dhaka would become Torghar district. There will be development works, hospitals will be built, roads, schools and colleges will be built.
Mohammad Zahid said that after the formation of Torghar district, the then Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti visited here and announced a development package of six billion rupees, but the building of the district headquarters hospital could not be built yet. Construction work could start on the land allocated for the courts.
Mohammad Zahid said that currently there is no lady doctor, lady health visitor, labor room and no maternity home in Torghar district. Due to which women have to go through severe difficulties during pregnancy.

Independent Urdu spoke to the Deputy Commissioner of Torghar, Zia-ul-Rehman, who said that after Torghar got the status of a district, a special development package has been allocated here by the provincial government since 2012, under which work on various schemes has started. In which many projects have been worked on in the fields of communication sector, education, agriculture etc.
He said that the district headquarters hospital is under construction in Torghar.
Zia-ul-Rahman said that there are 10 civil dispensaries apart from the district headquarters hospital and these 10 CDs are to be converted into BHUs i.e. Basic Health Units. When they are converted to BHU, 10 medical officers will also come and the rest of the staff will also come. This will solve the health problem to a great extent.’
Torghar Deputy Commissioner Zia-ul-Rehman said that related to the relief activities in the area, Zia-ul-Rehman said that with the construction of DHQ and the upgrading of 10 CDs, a separate building is being built for Rescue 1122.
‘But for now we have accommodated the complex here at the DC office. They have an ambulance and a fire brigade. They have the rest of the necessary rescue equipment. They are providing excellent services and providing timely rescue and relief services to the people.’
