Tomorrow, Habib Rizieq will be declared completely free

JAKARTA – Tomorrow, Habib Rizieq Shihab, who is the former Chair of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), will be declared free on Monday (10/6/2024). Previously, Habib Rizieq had undergone a period of parole guidance. He has also been scheduled to visit the Central Jakarta (Jakpus) Correctional Center (Bapas).

“Our client IBHRS (High Priest Habib Rizieq Shihab) tomorrow, Monday, June 10 2024, has completed all stages of the conditional release period in accordance with the statutory provisions for the criminalization case that befell him,” said Habib Rizieq’s attorney, Aziz Yanuar, Sunday ( 9/6/2024).

Aziz added that he could not confirm whether Habib Rizieq Shihab would take the files or not.

“It’s not certain yet. It could be that the lawyers will take it, it could be that IBHRS and our team will take it together. Most likely at 10 o’clock IBHRS and the team of lawyers will take it together,” added Aziz Yanuar.

Representing Habib Rizieq Shihab, Aziz Yanuar also expressed his thanks to those who helped and prayed for Habib Rizieq.

“We would like to express our thanks to all parties who have helped, supported and prayed for IBHRS during the conditional release period, including the general public and especially Muslims and do not forget to express our thanks to the ranks of the Central Jakarta Police Headquarters, Cipinang Prison, DKI Regional Law and Human Rights Office, “His team of lawyers, FPI, 212 Alumni Brotherhood, GNPF Ulama and all other mass organizations which without reducing respect are not mentioned one by one,” said Aziz Yanuar.

Previously, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights had stated that Habib Rizieq’s parole probation period would end on June 10, 2024.

As a reminder, Habib Rizieq was detained at the National Police Criminal Investigation Detention Center on December 12 2020 in three cases. Namely the case of the Petamburan crowd, the Megamendung crowd, and the Swab data at Ummi Hospital. Then, Habib Rizieq received parole on July 20 2022.
