The president of Petro Atlético de Luanda, Tomás Faria, revealed, during the gala celebrating the club’s 40th anniversary, his desire to make it the greatest sporting force on the African continent.
Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the aforementioned gala, the director pointed out his intention to turn the multi-sport club into the largest football club on a continental level.
“We hope that another 40 years will come and that we will continue to support Petro, so that it can follow its dream, which is to become the biggest football club in Africa”he declared.
On the occasion, the president also congratulated the entire Tricolor nation on the club’s anniversary and reiterated the club’s desire to win the national football championship, more than 10 years after the last victory.
A fan of the club since he was a teenager, Tomás Faria has been a member of Petro for over 25 years, has been a member of the board of directors since 2004 and became president in 2014.
Tomás Faria, is the seventh president of Petro de Luanda, which was previously chaired by: António Mangueira, Botelho de Vasconcelos, Silva Neto, Paulo Gouveia Júnior, Cardoso Pereira and Mateus de Brito, who died while serving his term in 2014.
