Tokayev was reported on the work of the new gas field

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Chairman of the Board of NK QazaqGaz JSC Sanzhar Zharkeshov. The President was informed about the results of the company’s work over the past year and plans for the coming year, Liter.kz reports with reference to Akorda.

The President was told about the progress in implementing large-scale infrastructure projects, new directions for processing Kashagan gas, as well as attracting investments in the gas industry in the amount of $12 billion.

The QazaqGaz group of companies built and commissioned large gas pipelines worth over 400 billion tenge, which are of social and economic importance for the development of the regions.

Tokayev was informed about the work on gasification of the country: in 11 regions, 112 settlements were connected to the gas supply system, which increased access to gas for 213 thousand people.

Also over the past year, the company subsidized gas prices for the domestic market by 175 billion tenge. At the same time, NK QazaqGaz JSC fully fulfills its obligations for the export and transit of natural gas.

The head of state was told about the commissioning of the new Anabay gas field, as well as work to develop the gas resource base. Thanks to the measures taken, the volume of gas supplies to the domestic market of Kazakhstan increased by 19%.

According to Zharkeshov, during peak loads on the gas transportation system during periods of abnormally low temperatures, the national company fully satisfied the needs of the domestic market and ensured uninterrupted gas supply to the country’s residents.

Following the meeting, the president gave a number of instructions aimed at the comprehensive development of the gas industry, including stable provision of gas supplies to the domestic market, expanding the resource base, solving systemic problems of the industry and improving its investment attractiveness.
