Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Secretary General Fatih Alhan started a legal battle, claiming that his health report was changed irregularly

Fatih Alhan, the Secretary General of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, who was investigated after returning late from Friday prayers in recent months, went through a lot of trouble when the issue was reported in the press. First, he was given a suspension of duty on charges of leaking documents, then he was assigned as a secretary at Erbaa Vocational School. The report that Alhan, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer, received with the signatures of 3 professors at the same university was cancelled by the university administration as being contrary to science. Alhan started a legal battle after the allegations that the health report was changed illegally and that he was threatened.

According to the allegations, Fatih Alhan, who was the Secretary General of TOGÜ Graduate Education Institute, was investigated for returning late from Friday prayers on the same day in the incident that took place at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (TOGÜ) on January 19. Following the news report by İhlas News Agency, Alhan was given a suspension of duty on the grounds that he leaked the documents to the press and was assigned as a secretary at Erbaa Vocational School, ignoring family integrity. Alhan, who fell ill at the time, was examined by Tokat State Hospital urologist Orhan Yıldız in March 2024. Alhan, who was diagnosed with malignant prostate cancer, was told that he needed to receive treatment at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Hospital.

Three professors at the same university reported

Thereupon, Alhan applied to the urology department of TOGÜ Faculty of Medicine Hospital and was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which has a risk of becoming cancerous, in a biopsy. Alhan, who was given antibiotic treatment for 3 months, applied to the urology department of TOGÜ again on August 8, 2024. Alhan, whose PSA values ​​increased from 9 to 12 in a short time and who was in severe pain, was told that he needed to be hospitalized. Alhan, who was discharged after 2 days of necessary treatment and examinations, was given a 20-day board report signed by 3 professors from the urology department of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. Alhan, who forwarded the report to the university on the same day, turned his report into a leave 2 days later. On August 13, 2024, with a letter sent by the Presidency of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, the referee referred the report signed by 3 professors from the university to the hospital, saying that it was contrary to science. Thereupon, Alhan went to the board at Tokat State Hospital on August 15, 2024, despite having severe pain and bleeding. According to the examination and test results, Specialist Doctor Orhan Yıldız found heavy blood in the urine. Thereupon, he wrote a report in accordance with the science and gave it to Alhan to take to the committee. The head of the committee, Duran Kaya, approved the report and sent Alhan home.

The committee met for the second time on the same day and made the opposite decision.

The board reconvened on the same day and approved Alhan’s report, saying it was scientifically correct. When the board was about to disperse, Tokat State Hospital Deputy Chief Physician Yahya Doğanay, despite not being on duty, came to the board and asked about Alhan’s report. Despite some doctors on the board objecting to this situation, Deputy Chief Physician Doğanay chaired the board again and changed it to be unscientific and unprocedural. Despite the pain and bleeding, Alhan took the report and went to the Tokat Provincial Health Directorate and complained. Alhan, who started a legal battle regarding the incident he experienced, started his duty at Erbaa Vocational School despite his illness.

On the other hand, it was claimed that the doctors who reported to Alhan were also subjected to pressure. – TOKAT
