Israeli War Council Minister Benny Gantz announced today, Sunday, that “there must be an urgent solution to the inability of the citizens of northern Israel to return to their homes.”
In his account on the “X” platform he underlined that “Israel is interested in a diplomatic solution and, if there is not one, the Israeli army will work to eliminate the threat.”
“It was the Hezbollah organization that initiated the escalation,” Gantz wrote, “Israel is interested in a diplomatic solution, but if it is not found, Israel and the IDF will eliminate the threat.”
He said that all “members of the War Cabinet share this opinion. The only consideration here is the security of Israel, and nothing else.”
The reality that citizens of northern Israel cannot return to their homes requires an urgent solution.

Hezbollah has launched near-daily rocket attacks against Israel since conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted in the Gaza Strip on October 7, as Israel shells southern Lebanon with artillery and launches airstrikes, killing dozens of Hezbollah fighters as well as civilians.
