Two police officers were attacked in Vlaardingen on Friday evening. They had come to a report about noise pollution on the Sweelinckstraat. Three men aged 19, 33 and 37 from that city were arrested.
The officers are not injured, but have filed a complaint. “Assault or violence, of any form, against officers will not be tolerated,” police said.
Police also say they received a report of the noise pollution around 11 p.m. Once they arrived on the Sweelinckstraat, the officers noticed that the noise was coming from a shed in a garden. The music echoed throughout the residential area.
According to police, it took a while for them to open the door. There appeared to be five people in the shed and there was a “strong odor of cannabis and alcohol”.
The officers grabbed him by the neck, immobilized him and deprived him of his truncheon
The police officers first tried to start a conversation, but one of them was immediately rejected. When the officers said they would confiscate the equipment, one of them was grabbed by the neck.
He was then trapped by another and robbed of his stick. The officer could barely breathe, police say. The other officer was also trapped.
Eventually, one of the police officers managed to call for help via his walkie-talkie, after which more units quickly arrived. The people in the shed attempted to escape through the house and roof. Three men were arrested.
