OAXACA, Oax. (apro).- At least three people died in a maritime accident due to probable migratory routes on the main beach of Santa María del Mar in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, confirmed the Attorney General’s Office of Oaxaca.

The discovery of three lifeless bodies on the main beach of Santa María del Mar, belonging to the municipality of Juchitán de Zaragoza, was spread this morning when the bodies of the male sex were located and in an evident initial state of decomposition.

That is why the Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office began the investigation file for the crime of homicide, after the discovery of three lifeless bodies that are unknown and who would have been victims of a maritime incident apparently related to migratory routes.

After becoming aware of the discovery, the Isthmus Regional Vice Prosecutor’s Office assumed responsibility for the investigations, which is why it deployed a multidisciplinary team to process the site.

At the scene, the experts, agents of the public ministry and elements of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) carried out investigative acts consisting of inspection and removal of the three male corpses, which are found as unidentified. They are also in an initial state of decomposition.

As a result of the initial investigations, the Prosecutor’s Office defined the lines of investigation around the case, among which one suggests that it was an accident or incident of some type of vessel that was traveling along this part of the Pacific coast, which would be related to migrant transfer routes.
