48 candidates of Awami League have been finalized for the reserved seats for women in the 12th National Parliament. The party will submit the final candidate list to the returning officer of the Election Commission next Sunday (February 18). At the end of the meeting, Obaidul Quader said that 48 candidates had to be selected after scrutinizing the nomination forms of 1553 candidates for reserved women’s seats. Awami League started selling party nomination forms for the reserved women’s seats from February 6, which ended on Thursday (February 8) at 4 pm. Later, in a press briefing, the general secretary of the party, Obaidul Quader, said that the party’s income was Tk 7 crore 74 lakh 50 thousand by selling the nomination form of the Awami League for the reserved women’s seats in the parliament.
According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission (EC), the date for submission of nomination papers for the election of reserved women’s seats in the 12th Parliament is Sunday, February 18 from 9 am to 4 pm. Nomination papers will be selected on February 19 and 20. The appeal was filed on February 22 and the appeal will be disposed of on February 24. Last date for withdrawal of candidature is 25th February, allotment of symbols is 27th February and polling will be held on 14th March.
