Criminal liability is established for displaying, spreading, preparing, acquiring, storing, transporting or carrying attributes or symbols aimed at dividing the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Publika.az informs that the draft amendment to the Criminal Code in this regard will be discussed in the 12th reading at the plenary session of the parliament held today.
With the amendment, displaying or disseminating attributes or symbols aimed at disintegrating the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, or preparing, acquiring, storing, transporting or traveling for the purpose of displaying or disseminating, will be punished by restriction of liberty for a period of up to 5 years or deprivation of liberty for the same period. .
If the acts provided for in Article 281-1.1 of the Code are committed by a group of persons or an organized gang, which have colluded in advance, they will be punished with imprisonment for a period of 5 to 8 years.
If the acts provided for in Article 281-1.1 of the Code are committed by the order of foreign organizations and their representatives, they will be punished by imprisonment for a period of 7 to 10 years.
The draft amendment to the Code was put to the vote and adopted in the 12th reading.
